Machine polisher correcting the dark gloss paint of a luxury vehicle under LED inspection lighting at Empire Auto Detailing in St. George, Southern Utah

Paint Correction · St. George, UT

Paint Correction

Swirls, scratches, water spots, and oxidation are defects in the clear coat, not dirt. Correction removes them and restores the depth and clarity the paint had on day one.

Enhancement from $250 · Full correction from $500

The problem

Why washing never fixes it.

Automatic car washes, dirty wash mitts, and years of desert sun leave thousands of microscopic scratches in the clear coat. Under direct light they show up as spiderwebs, haze, and a flat, tired finish. Paint correction uses machine polishing with measured, progressively finer abrasives to level the clear coat so those defects are gone rather than hidden. The result is real gloss — not a wax or glaze that washes off in a month.

Process

How a correction is done properly.

01

Assessment

Paint-depth readings on every panel, defect mapping under LED, and a written recommendation. You approve the plan and the exact price before we start.

02

Decontamination

Foam pre-wash, hand wash, iron remover, and clay so nothing is dragged across the paint during polishing.

03

Masking

Trim, badges, and edges taped to protect them from the polisher.

04

Correction

One or more machine polishing stages depending on the package, checked panel by panel.

05

Inspection and protection

Final inspection under sun-match lighting. We then recommend a ceramic coating, sealant, or wax so the finish you paid for lasts.

Step two

Corrected paint is unprotected paint.

Correction removes the clear coat's defects. It does not stop new ones. A ceramic coating applied over freshly corrected paint locks in the finish with years of UV, chemical, and wash resistance — and because the paint is already prepped, coating immediately after correction is the most cost-effective time to do it.

Book correction and coating together and the polishing stage included in every coating package is replaced by your full correction — you do not pay for prep twice.
